Have You Heard the Buzz? Insect pet foods are flying off the shelves!

Dr. Jennifer Adolphe will discuss the growing demand for alternative protein sources for pet food products, particularly insect-based ingredients such as black soldier flies. This presentation will be interactive, allowing participants to touch, feel, and smell pet food treats made with alternative protein sources. It will also showcase the advantages of using insect-based protein as a sustainable and eco-friendly source of amino acids and fatty acids for pet diets. Dr. Adolphe will also cover over a recent study conducted by the University of Illinois in collaboration with ADM and Innovafeed, which explores the potential of black soldier fly as a nutritious substitution for commonly used protein ingredients in pet food.
