Pet businesses face a wide range of threats, from competition and supply chain issues to accidents and natural disasters. You know this, and you do what you can to protect yourself in advance. But how aware are you of the threats to your business from legislation and regulations, and what steps are you taking to prevent them?

Every year, hundreds of bills and regulations are proposed that affect all aspects of the responsible pet care community. In this panel discussion, your colleagues will talk about some of the most impactful developments we’ve seen recently, including new licensure requirements for bird breeders and proposals to limit or even prohibit trade in a wide range of reptiles, amphibians, fish, and small mammals. They’ll also discuss what they’re doing to protect their businesses by working with groups like the Pet Advocacy Network, the American Pet Products Association, and the Pet Industry Distributors Association to advocate for themselves to lawmakers and staff.

Attendees will have the opportunity to weigh in on threats facing the entire pet care community with questions and feedback as we all work to strengthen our advocacy efforts together.
